Grimshaw Guitars

My wife found this link to me playing which was from Eric Sandifords website devoted to Grimshaw Guitars.   I own a Troubador  6 string which dates from the mid sixties.  I got this guitar about 10 years ago from Andy's Guitar shop on Denmark street.   It is unusual in that it has a D-Hole like a Maccaferri but with a flat-top bridge.   Without the Stimer the guitar has a very mellow sound very similar to Chriss Campions favino but it does not have the volume and is a quiet guitar.

Great to see me on the page with Pete Townsend Gene Vincent, Joe Brown, Billy Fury and Bert Weedon.

Django's Tiger on Stimer

Here is a vid of me playing some improvised choruses on this tune.  I will post some transcriptions of the licks soon.

There are some great examples of gypsy guitarists playing this tune....Have you heard Jimmy Rosenbergs version??  Click here for CD details

Welcome,

Here is my gypsy jazz guitar tuition blog.  I will be posting some clips and some lessons soon.

Feel free to contact me to discuss any of the material on this site.

Keep playing
Dave
